About a month ago I purchased a 50mm 1.8 lens for my DSLR. I took some practice shots yesterday. All were taken on the auto mode. Here are my unedited favourites. Unedited because I still don't know how to use photoshop hah!

Praying Mantis
This picture of the Praying Mantis was taken with the Canon Ixus 230 HS point and shoot camera. It was on automatic mode.
I had a play with Photoshop afterwards to see if I could get the Praying Mantis to stand out a bit.
This is also the first time I've mucked around with Photoshop.
